Every metropolis has its history, take Zhengzhou for example from boundless farmland to densely tile-roofed houses to today's high-rise buildings, the change carries memories of generations. From life trivial to the striving goal, it is people's daily living that weaves the urban prosperous.
Continue readingMass Series Sumi Limited is a furniture collection that includes a dining chair, a lounge chair, a coffee table, two stools and a coat hanger. Each piece combines a steel frame with generously planed cedar taken from old trees. The cedar is charred by a traditional method that improves durability and brings out defined grains, creating a glossy black surface with a rare texture. The dark finish refers to Noyaki, the grassland burning of the Aso area, where people and nature live together. The series is limited to 25 units per year.
Continue readingXian Canopy is a hotel interior design located on a historic street in Xian, China. The design combines Tang Dynasty culture with contemporary lifestyle. The atrium is arranged as a canopy center that links check-in, lounge, lift lobby, restaurants, coffee shop and meeting rooms, so guests move easily and gather for events such as music performances. Acoustic design supports these activities. Guest rooms are kept simple, with gradient wall coverings inspired by Tang Dynasty fabrics. The project covers 32000 square meters and includes 125 guest rooms.
Continue readingStoniture is a sofa inspired by the form of natural stone. The design has a curved edge and a broad support surface to provide a comfortable and relaxed seating position. The seat foam adjusts slightly under weight, so the seating surface follows the body. The body structure is made of wood, and the seat contains foam with a density of 30. The sofa measures 110 by 95 by 50 centimeters. The simple shape is intended to reflect the simplicity of natural stone and to create a sense of familiarity. Stoniture was designed in Tehran in 2023.
Continue readingPac Man is a side table with an integrated light, suited for use beside a lounge chair. The upper and lower panels are made of marble, and the body is formed by a plate heat bending process. A light strip is embedded in the handle. The light grows brighter as the handle is raised, and the vertical position gives the strongest light. The color temperature is adjusted by touching the left or right side. The low-temperature light source emits no heat. The shape recalls the classic arcade game Pac Man.
Continue readingVicutu Concept is a flagship store interior created for a fashion brand in Beijing. The store covers 1,680 square meters on two floors. A large three-dimensional aluminum woven diagrid system forms the facade and refers to the fabric and tailoring of men's clothing. Inside, textured artistic cement walls create a calm and sculptural setting. Walls and display counters appear to grow from the floor and the ceiling, and hidden light sources strengthen the sense of continuity. The interior offers visitors a physical experience of space and fashion.
