Growing Artistic is the interior design of a six-floor villa for a family of three generations. The original building held two separate homes stacked together, so the second floor was opened to form a single household. Old solid wood boards give the rooms a rustic and quiet character, while art paint adds texture and calm color to each area. The public space was expanded with new functional zones and void zones, adding vertical connection to horizontal connection. Geometric blocks, simple tones and natural light shape a restful atmosphere.
Recycled corks from wine bottles consumed in Tokyo are collected and re-molded into the body. The light emitted on the cork's soft surface emits a warm glow on the spot. Baia came into existence in Shibuya the center of Tokyo metropolitan as a cave suddenly appeared in the city. It consists of 5 floors; a basement, 3 stories, and a rooftop terrace, and the design concept of the entire floor is a cave within the city. The designers believed only a minimal design could visualize the fascinating and exotic atmosphere of a cave, and kept it minimal using emerald green lighting and mortar which they think suited for this modern cave. The lighting plan of fascinating emerald green lights added glamor to the space and helped visualize the design concept.
