Waon lighting

Waon

Waon is a wall-mounted lighting fixture made with Mino washi, a paper unique to Japan. The design refers to the papermaking process, in which the fibers are shaken in water to spread evenly. The washi is folded and twisted into pleats to form a large curved surface. Thin acrylic plates hold the paper in place, so no visible frame is needed and the paper appears to float. The gap between the paper and the wall also serves as heat dissipation space for the three bulbs, which can be replaced easily. The soft light suits entrances, lobbies and bedrooms.

Pagoda Lamp

Pagoda

Pagoda is a desk lamp designed without an external switch. The lamp has a pagoda-shaped shell that holds the light source inside. The control is integrated into the shape. Users place a hand on the top and rotate the form clockwise to turn the light on and to raise the brightness. Rotating counterclockwise lowers the brightness and turns the light off. The shell is made of teak wood, which is dried for stability and wear resistance. Wood conducts heat slowly, so the surface feels warm. The lamp measures 10 by 10 by 20 centimeters.

The light is produced by LED cells on a base. The head is made of bronze, the top lid of natural marble and the outer shell of glass. The bottom lid holds a circuit for wireless charging, so the lamp can be carried between rooms.

Glow Globs Lighting Installation

Glow Globs

Glow Globs is an inflatable lighting installation made of white nylon fabric, a blower fan and LED lights.
